Consultancy

The internet offers a radical new way to engage customers, deliver services, sell products, manage information and lobby for change. It is creating new business models, and making old ways of working obsolete. If organisations are to embrace the full possibilities of the digital age, they need an integrated strategy that works across the entire business to manage risks and capitalise on new opportunities.

We offer consultancy services to understand your business and deliver a social media plan that increases engagement and helps your business grow – online and offline. This methodology can be conducted in depth for full-service consultancy projects, or in compressed form for shorter engagements. Here’s how it works:

1: Focus
Tools are only useful if you know what you want to do, so the process starts with understanding the objectives, target audience and value proposition for your organisation. Whether you want to increase sales, engage new audiences or harness the energy of staff and supporters, social media tools could be of benefit.

2: Analysis
We analyse what your business is currently doing: your products and processes, comms activity, key messages, research activities, and of course any existing websites and IT platforms. We meet the key people inside and outside the organisation, run engagement events to get people talking, model how the processes work currently, and identify how technology can help unblock customer journeys, build new models and scale up what’s working already.

3: Strategy
These days, technology is the easy bit. We identify the existing digital platforms that you could use right away, recommend fresh engagement approaches, new business processes and smarter customer insights. And of course, all our suggestions will be tailored to fit your budget.

Our aim is to engage your organisation in a clear strategy for how social media tools can help you deliver social impact. We can write it all up as a report if you like, deliver it as a presentation, or better still run an event to discuss it all with your stakeholders and customers. We can probably tell you quite a bit over a coffee if you’re pushed for time too.

Having a plan is only useful if you know how to implement it though, so we also provide training services, and ongoing support to organisations on a retainer basis. You control the pace and nature of change and build up your own experience, and we’re on hand to help you over the humps and advise you on tricky decisions. Retainer packages start at £1000 per month, depending on the level and nature of the support required.

Engagement consultancy

New technologies give organisations powerful new channels to engage customers, supporters and staff, and also bring increasing benefits to those organisations that can create a genuine connection with their communities. In this networked world, organisations don’t need a communications strategy, they need an engagement strategy.

The Sociability Associates have all developed their own projects to engage communities in powerful and authentic ways, and seen the social and commercial benefits of doing so. We have delivered engagement programmes for organisations like the RSA, Community Matters and the Nag, and in our non-profit spinoff project Mindapples, we have developed one of the most successful integrated online and offline engagement campaigns seen in the social enterprise sector in recent years. If you want some of the best brains in digital and experiential engagement working on your campaigns, drop us a line at hello[at]sociability.org.uk.

We also complement our digital engagement and participation services with event design and facilitation to help you engage stakeholders and make sure the physical experience matches the digital. We can deliver engaging participatory events to complement your online community-building work, and full-service engagement events and experiences with our production partners The People Speak.

“When we wanted help facilitating a large participatory plenary session at our annual conference, we realised we needed someone with very special skills. Andy Gibson came highly recommended to us, and his attention to detail, his experience and his exceptional presentational skills meant it was not only a useful process but an enjoyable one. Andy has made a real difference to the way our organisation communicates and the work we have collaborated on will have a major impact on us and our members’ work for a long time to come.” – Rosie Anderson, Community Matters
